For more than fifteen years, Cindy Elliott has worked with global manufacturers and enterprise class technology companies to help influence customer-focused business transformation. In her current role at Esri, Cindy leads the company’s go-to-market strategy for the manufacturing industry and helps to shape the role of geospatial analytics within the manufacturer’s business growth strategy related to new market analysis, supply chain and services. Prior to Esri, Cindy worked at PTC (Boston, MA) for seven years where she helped launch a new business segment for Connected Service. Additionally, Cindy holds a Senior Visiting Industrial Fellow position at Aston Business School in Birmingham, UK and is an established thought leader on servitization and advanced services. Cindy has completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School and has earned a Master’s of International Management at the Thunderbird Graduate School.
National Manufacturing Practice Leader, Grant Thornton
Jeff French is the national leader of the manufacturing practice and national managing partner of the Consumer and Industrial Products practice. He has more than 25 years of public accounting experience. French's business experience includes acting as the lead service partner for numerous clients, as well as serving as the primary business adviser to CEOs and boards of directors. He has worked with a broad range of public and private clients, from startups to large corporations. He has advised clients on audit and financial reporting, acquisition strategies, due diligence and integrations, public offerings, and international statutory audits.
Chairman and CEO, ConocoPhillips
Ryan M. Lance has served as chairman and chief executive officer of ConocoPhillips, the world’s largest independent exploration and production company based on production and reserves, since 2012. He is also chairman of the Executive Committee for ConocoPhillips.
Ryan is a petroleum engineer with 32 years of oil and natural gas industry experience in senior management and technical positions with ConocoPhillips, predecessor Phillips Petroleum and various divisions of ARCO. His past ConocoPhillips executive assignments included responsibility for international exploration and production, regional responsibility at various times for Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North America, and responsibility for technology, major projects, downstream strategy, integration and specialty functions.
Externally, Ryan serves as 2016-2017 chairman of the American Petroleum Institute. He is also an advocate for charities benefiting youth through his service on the board of Spindletop International, and a member of the board of directors for the Montana Tech Foundation, and the advisory council of the University of Texas Energy Institute.
Ryan is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Montana Tech in Butte in 1984.
Executive Vice President, Supply Chain & Production, O.C. Tanner Company
Gary has worked for The O.C. Tanner Company for 29 years. His current assignment is Executive Vice President, Supply Chain & Production.
Prior to working in his current roll Gary has held an impressively diverse set of jobs with the O.C. Tanner Company, including Manager of Market Research, Manufacturing Change Facilitator (where he was instrumental in moving the operation from “batch” to lean, resulting in their winning the Shingo Prize), Vice President of Manufacturing, Marketing Vice President of Award Development, and Vice President of Research and Professional Services.
O.C. Tanner has also received the AME Excellence Award, and Gary has been inducted into the AME Hall of Fame.
Gary serves on the Executive Advisory Board for the Shingo Institute, and is a Shingo Examiner. His experience with Lean Enterprise sends him around the globe helping others improve their operations.
Gary holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics from Brigham Young University. He recharges his batteries by snowboarding, playing basketball, hiking, watching his 17-year old daughter play soccer, and being with his seven grandchildren.
Advisory Principal and National Advisory Lead Consumer and Industrial Products Industry Practice, Grant Thornton
Ward Melhuish is a principal with Grant Thornton and leads the Performance Transformation service line for the Public Sector practice. He has over 25 years of government and industry consulting experience and specializes in cost and performance management services, including strategy development, operational deployment, process improvement, organizational change, human capital management, value-based assessment, performance measurement, cost assessment and analytics. Melhuish has worked with clients across several industry sectors, including agencies within the Departments of Defense, Energy, Homeland Security, Justice, Treasury and Transportation, as well as independent agencies and corporations such as the United States Postal Service and Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation.
Morgan L. Swink
Information Systems and Supply Chain Management (INSC), Neeley School of Business, Texas Christian University
Morgan Swink is the Eunice and James L. West Chaired Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Supply Chain Innovation at the Neeley School. He teaches in areas of supply chain management, project management, innovation management, and operations strategy. Dr. Swink’s current research projects address cutting edge competencies in supply chain management, financial impacts of supply chain management, collaborative integration, supply chain organizational structures, innovation initiatives and project success factors. He was recently ranked among the top ten innovation management scholars in the world, and among the top 75 most productive operations management scholars.
Dr. Swink is the former Co-Editor in Chief for the Journal of Operations Management, a top academic supply chain management journal. He serves as associate editor for several other journals. He is the immediate past president of the Decision Sciences Institute, as well as serving as chair of the Research Strategies Committee and a member of the board of directors for CSCMP. He has co-authored two supply chain operations text-books, one managerial book on supply chain excellence, and more than 75 articles in a variety of academic and managerial journals. He has won several research and teaching awards, including the 2016 Research and Creativity Award at TCU. Dr. Swink consults and leads executive workshops and seminars in supply chain management best practices, cross-organizational integration, project management, operational flexibility, and breakthrough thinking for innovation and productivity.
Past academic postings include Michigan State University (1998-2010) and Indiana University (1988-1998). Before becoming a professor, Dr. Swink worked for 10 years in manufacturing and product development positions at Texas Instruments Incorporated. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University (83), an MBA from the University of Dallas (86), and a Ph.D. in Operations Management from Indiana University (92).
President and CEO, NAM
Jay Timmons is president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the largest manufacturing association in the United States representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector. He became NAM president in January 2011.
Jay is a leading advocate for the nearly 12 million men and women who make things in America, educating the public and policymakers on issues that affect this critical sector of the U.S. economy. He promotes a broad-based agenda to strengthen U.S. competitiveness and bring about a manufacturing renaissance.
He is driven by the principles instilled in him by his roots in the manufacturing town of Chillicothe, Ohio, where his grandfather worked at a Mead plant for nearly four decades and where he witnessed manufacturing's ability to raise the quality of life for families and communities. Jay's knowledge and expertise is valued and respected by influential policymakers on both sides of the aisle in Congress and the Administration. He knows how to navigate the complexities of the policymaking process in the nation's capital and brings with him an exceptional understanding of manufacturing issues.
Prior to his appointment as NAM president, Jay was executive vice president beginning in 2008. In 2005, he joined the NAM as senior vice president of policy and government relations. His previous experience includes serving as chief of staff to Congressman, Governor and Senator George Allen (R-VA) from 1991 to 2002, and a term as executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2004 election cycle. When he first came to Washington in the 1980s, he served as press secretary to Congressman Jim Martin (R-NC) and later Alex McMillan (R-NC).
A passionate advocate for the adoption of companion animals, Jay is the chairman of the Washington Humane Society Board of Directors. He also serves on the board of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform. Vice President of Procurement and Business Support, Dixie Chemical
Ms. Kelli Gregory serves as Vice President of Procurement and Business Support. She joined Dixie in August 2014. Kelli has strong and progressive experience in Purchasing, Human Resources and Training in the chemical industry, including prior service at OxyChem, AmericanAcryl and Lonza. Kelli is a graduate of University of Houston Clear Lake with a BBA in Management. She holds SPHR certification and is a leader in chemical industry workforce development initiatives at the local, regional and national level. Ms. Gregory is responsible for Purchasing, Human Resources, Training, Customer Service, Marketing, Communications and Loss Control.
