The NAM Leading Edge Executive Forum on Sustainability highlighted how sustainability commitments are transforming manufacturing and driving innovation and positive impacts for manufacturers, their employees and communities.
The forum featured a keynote presentation and discussion with Beck and Rob Bernard, chief environmental & cities strategist, Microsoft Corporation. NAM Chief Economist Chad Moutray moderated the discussion.
A panel focusing on integrating sustainability into innovation featured Kirsten Lund-Jurgensen, vice president, innovative product portfolio management & consumer operations, Pfizer Global Supply; Charlene Wall-Warren, director, sustainability, BASF; Emilio Tenuta, vice president, corporate sustainability, Ecolab; and Heidi Brock, president & CEO, The Aluminum Association.
The second panel highlighted the growing demand for greater process efficiency and improved sustainability performance and featured Tenuta; Dr. Gregory Ludkovsky, vice president, head of research and development, ArcelorMittal; Bill Gill, assistant vice president, environmental affairs, Smithfield Foods; and Jamie Mackay, director, global environmental compliance & sustainability, Alcoa, Inc.
Tom Easterday, executive vice president, secretary and chief legal officer, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc., concluded the event with a discussion on the mission of sustainability and how essential it is to manufacturers.
